Default I need help on what to do.

I have been playing guild wars for just over a week now and have gotten to level 14. I have prophecies and Eye of the north, and i am a 14 W/E. I really have no idea what to pursue at this point, and i want to pvp at 20. Basicly what i am looking for is a guide of what i should do to be semi-successful in pvp and obtain a guild. Any help is thanked.

Thanks in advance.

Pearse.

Look for a decent warrior build that you want to play in PvP, and get the skills/needed items for it. Practice with it in PvE, get the feel of it.

As for your other question, you'll need a decent PvP guild to get decent at hardcore PvP. However, you have to be decent at hardcore PvP before you can get a decent PvP guild.

No matter what people say, there is no "guide" to being good at PvP - there are multiple facets of PvP (casual PvP, like random arenas or alliance battles, and hardcore PvP, which is guild vs guild or Heroes Ascent) It is mostly practice, trial and error, and figuring out what you like to do versus what other people want you to do.

A couple good resources for all things Guild Wars are the wikis. The official wiki is newer and run by Arena Net, however, I prefer the unofficial wiki that has been around since 2005:
Guild Wiki
Guild Wars Wiki

As for what to do, follow the main storyline as best you can and avoid getting runs from other players. Do the main quests and missions, and as many side-quests as you can along the way. I'd stray away from Eye of the North until you have beaten Prophecies. As part of the storyline you will get a limited exposure to how PvP works, and in general you'll want to run through a couple characters before getting into competitive PvP. Most of PvP is knowing what all of the classes are capable of, recognizing certain class combinations as being likely to use a certain build, and remembering the effects of a few hundred skills.

Do by learning was pretty much the way I did it, no one can tell you how to be successful, that comes with experience. But of course a nice guild can make the game much more enjoyable for you.

I'd say first complete prophecies since it's totally worth it. The storyline is 1 thing but you now get green (perfect) equipment. After finishing prophecies get a guild in LA/temple of balthazar. Get a often run warrior PvP guild. One of the most used is the Shock Axe. Work on getting the skills and that should already be a lot of fun gameplay . You might want to try some random arena to get used to the build.

I'd also like to suggest that you check the Glads section here on guru.
